By using this website to access training and professional development or any training events advertised on this website you are agreeing to all terms and conditions associated with event places including charging and cancellation policies.
The information you provide will be stored electronically and used by Richmond Council and/or Wandsworth Council where appropriate for administrative and statistical purposes, in compliance with GDPR.
Applications can be made online either by individual staff or via the organisation's CPD (continuing professional development) / TPD (training and professional development) Lead. Most bookings will need authorisation from a manager / TPD Lead. Where an organisation uses a dedicated TPD Lead authorisation process, all applications by individual staff will be emailed to their TPD Lead for approval before acceptance on the course. Bookings will not be confirmed without TPD Lead authorisation.
If an individual attends a course with an event code prefixe 'SCH' where a booking has not been made or authorised in advance (at least one working day), an administration charge of £30 will be made in addition to the course fee.
We cannot accept or make provisional bookings over the phone.
In most cases, closing dates for applications will be ten days before the event start date. Early application is advised to secure a place. All places on events must be pre-booked including those offered free of charge. Richmond Council and Wandsworth Council reserves the right to restrict participation to pre-booked applicants, especially when the presence of additional people will adversely affect participants' experience (by making group sizes too large for example).
All correspondence relating to an event will take place by email.
Confirmation of booking
We aim to confirm places within 10 days of the event start date.
Richmond Council and Wandsworth Council reserve the right to limit the number of people from the same organisation for some events (in order to ensure participation from the widest range of organisations). Some events may specify selection criteria.
If an event is over subscribed the organiser will select the applicants that will attend. There will be a need to ensure that the event is appropriate for the applicant, and to endeavour to get a good balance of participants from different agencies. For multi-agency events not specifically aimed at the Adult Social Care workforce, priority will go to agencies working in Richmond and Wandsworth, and 10% of the places will be reserved for voluntary and community sector applicants. Applications will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted if places become available. Unsuccessful applicants will not be automatically notified of, or booked onto, any repeat session.
Changes to courses
Every attempt will be made to provide the event in the form described in the event outline. When there are significant changes (for example, date, venue or trainer) applicants will be notified of these changes by email at least two days prior to the start of the event.
Event fees are provided on the event descriptions on the website.
Invoices and journal transfers will be raised within 8 weeks of the event taking place, and within 8 weeks of the start date of a long accredited training course. The payment terms and conditions are detailed on the invoices.
Administration Charge (events with an event code prefix “SCH”)
If an individual attends a course where a booking has not been made or authorised in advance (at least one working day) an administration fee of £30 will be charged in addition to the course fee. This applies to all courses with an event code prefix “SCH”.
Late arrivals for training events
Please ensure you arrive promptly for training events as late arrival can be disruptive. If you arrive later than 10 minutes after the advertised start time you may be refused entry into the training event. The trainer will make a decision to accept entry for late attendees based upon the length of the course and the nature of the course content.
Course cancellation by course organisers
In the event that a course has to be cancelled, we aim to provide applicants with a minimum of ten days notice of cancellation. If late cancellations affect the viability of the course, applicants will be informed by email as soon as possible.
In the case of unforeseen circumstances i.e. bad weather conditions or trainer illness, where possible, delegates will be notified by email as soon as the circumstance is known. The venue will also be notified of the situation.
In the case of event cancellation by the organisers, applicants will not be charged, and the organisers will try to ensure that participants are sent information about equivalent events as soon as possible.
Course cancellation by applicant
This cancellation policy applies to any applicant who can not attend or who does not arrive for an event for which a confirmed place has been allocated.*
• All cancellations must be made using the 'Cancel booking' function on TPD Online at least three working days before the start of the event. For example: If the event you wish to cancel is on Tuesday, you need to cancel your place on TPD Online on Thursday of the week before. In this case no charge will be made.
• All cancellations received less than 3 working days before the event start date will be charged at full cost. In some cases the place can be taken by another colleague with agreement from the event administrator and the replacement's details should be sent through in advance. No cancellation charge would be made in these cases.
• Cases of non-attendance due to illness, bereavement, special leave, school Ofsted inspection or having to attend court in a professional capacity will be considered when confirmation of the reason has been sent by the manager or TPD Lead.
• Individuals/organisations will be invoiced for the full event fees or the late cancellation/non-attendance fee, whichever is greater, if their staff fails to attend or give less than 3 working days notice. In the case of free courses a charge will be made. See details below.
Cancellations can only be made via the TPD Online 'My Profile & Bookings' tab.
Cancellation charge for chargeable courses:

Cancellation charge for free courses
Applicant cancels at least three working days prior to the event start date - No charge
Applicant cancels less than three working days prior to the event start date or fails to attend. Late cancellation/non-attendance fee: £30 per two hour session; £50 per half day; £100 for all other training – exceptions to these will be made clear in the full event details.
* Events aimed primarily at the Adult Social Care workforce do not currently incur a standard late cancellation/non-attendance fee. However this policy is under review and delegates will be clearly notified in advance if and when such fees are applied to specific training events.
Special cancellation Terms & Conditions may apply for some courses including accredited (e.g. First Aid) and residential courses/events.

In some cases the place can be substituted by another colleague with agreement from the event administrator and the replacement's details should be sent through in advance. No cancellation charge would be made in these cases.
Each attendee will be expected to give an evaluation of the event. Depending on the activity this may be in the form of a feedback sheet at the end of the event but could also include an online evaluation of the impact that the activity has had on practice from three months after the event. If a post-course evaluation is needed for an event you will not be able to download your certificate until this is completed.
Depending on the training event certificates may be given to you at the end of the training event, sent to you separately (for accredited courses eg. First Aid), or downloadable from your 'My Profile & Bookings' page. You will need to complete a post-course evaluation where required for your certificate to be available as a download.

The organisers of all of the training and professional development events make every effort to ensure equality of access and to meet the needs of the target audience. TPD Online is committed to promoting inclusive practice when working with children, young people, vulnerable adults and carers. If you have any specific needs please ensure you give details when registering on TPD Online or contact the event administrator e.g. if space for a signer who is accompanying you is required at an event.
