Event description
This refresher course focuses on updating safeguarding and child protection knowledge for multi agency partners with a focus on Wandsworth. 
Training objectives
To refresh participants' knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection in a multi-agency context. If new to Wandsworth or Safegaurding pleae attend Awareness Recognition and Raising a Concern before attending this course. 
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course participants will:

  • Revise their knowledge of the signs and symptoms of abuse

  • Know when and how to raise concerns to Children's Specialist Services

  • Have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of child protection procedures

  • Obtain an understanding of ‘thresholds’ and how they inform the response of Wandsworth Children’s Services

  • Be aware of relevant recent changes in legislation and guidance affecting work with children and young people

  • Describe roles, responsibilities and understand the importance of collaborative practice in safeguarding and child protection

  • Describe Child Exploitation and list four indicators

  • Have an understanding of the prevalence of Neglect

  • Know the key learning fron Safeguarding child Practice Reviews (formerly SCR)
